General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd), OFR is a retired Nigerian Army general who has served as Minister of Defence of the Federal Republic of Nigeria since 4 December 2025. He was previously the 18th Chief of Defence Staff, from 23 June 2023 until his retirement on 30 October 2025.

Born on 25 December 1967 in Sokoto, he hails from Zangon Kataf in Southern Kaduna State. He enrolled at the Nigerian Defence Academy in 1986 as a member of the 38th Regular Course, graduating with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) and commissioning as a Second Lieutenant in 1991.

A career infantry officer, he built a reputation as a frontline counter-terrorism commander — culminating in his appointment as Theatre Commander, Operation HADIN KAI in the North East in 2021, and later Commander of the Nigerian Army Infantry Corps. He was nominated Minister of Defence by President Bola Tinubu following his retirement.
